The Young Crusaders Evolved: Episode 2

Sarah got up and went to answer the door. The time she was awoken at was 5:00 AM. Sarah opened the entrance door to the HQ and saw a 16 year old boy. The boy was dressed in a black suit, black shoes and white socks. He had brown, curly hair and he was wearing a black fedora.

“Who are you?” She asked. The boy did not answer, he took a letter out of his hand and handed it to Sarah. She took the letter with her
vines from him as he started to walked away. Sarah looked at the envelope. The front of the envelope said ‘Confidential’ and the back of it said ‘To the Young Crusaders’.

“Why would some young teenager deliver a confidential letter to us?” She asked herself as she watched the young teenager disappear into the dense fog of dawn.

“This is totally beyond weird, better go back to bed.” She said as she went back into the HQ and went back to bed.

She then woke up at 9:00 AM, Nicky was already out of bed and in the dining room. Sarah went to make breakfast for everyone, as she usually did every day. She was going to make blueberry waffles for everyone. But to her surprise when she entered the kitchen, Nicky was already making breakfast for everyone.

“Nicky, why are you making breakfast?” She asked.

“I thought it would be nice of me to make breakfast, so you wouldn’t have to worry about it all.” He said in reply as he continued cooking the waffles while looking at a recipe book.

“That’s real sweet of you Nicky, thank you.” She said as she slightly smiled.

“You're welcome Sarah.” He said in reply.

After 10 minutes, breakfast was finished. Nicky took a plate of blueberry waffles that he cooked and brought it over to the dining room table in the HQ. Everyone grabbed a waffle or two and started eating.

“By the way Sarah, who was knocking on our door last night?” He asked in reply.

“Oh, apparently a 16 year old boy was knocking on our door. He gave me a letter that was marked ‘Confidential’ and could only be read by us.” She said.

“That’s sounds pretty strange to me, can we talk about the letter after breakfast?” He asked.

“Sure, I don’t mind at all.” She said in reply as she continued eating her food.

Once everyone in the HQ finished their breakfast, they went back to what they were previously doing. Cole was sitting in the living room, watching TV with the pikachu trio. The pichu trio evolved 5 days after Nicky and Sarah evolved and now they are known as the pikachu trio. Nicky and Sarah were both talking at the dining room table, talking about the confidential letter.

“I wonder what could be in the letter that I received last night.” She pondered.

“I don’t know, buts lets find out.” He said in reply as he opened the envelope slowly and carefully took the letter out. He handed the letter to her and she started reading it slowly. After she read it, she handed it to Nicky.

“The message is quite disturbing, as if someone is watching our every moment and every place that we go.” She said.

“My goodness! This is disturbing as all heck. Whoever wrote this is obviously spying on us, or trying to track us. Even though this letter doesn’t say who it is from. All it says is the time will eventually come....the time to sacrifice one life in order to save another…but for now.... you will be watched.” He said in reply.

“Indeed it is, we will have to be careful wherever we go from now on, just in case someone tries to kill us or something familiar to that kind of situation.” She said.

“Yes, of course Sarah. We must be extra careful.” He said as he decided to change the subject and pushed the letter off to the side.

“So Sarah, how is the progress on the new prototype lazer pistols?” He asked.

“It is almost completed Nicky. Soon, we will have our own advanced weapons to use against our evil clones if they are to return for vengeance.” She said.

“Yeah, after all. My evil clone version of me is locked up in prison, while the others disbanded and went separate ways” He said.

“I remember the court case I took on, in order to prove your innocence that you didn’t send a threatening letter to someone.” She said.

“Ah yes, of course. I remember that. That was before we both evolved.” He said.

“It was quite the court case that I had.” She said.

"Yeah, and that was back when someone sent out some assassin's to try and kill us." He said.

"Those were some crazy times we had. For now, lets go watch some TV." She said as he nodded in reply. Sarah and Nicky went to the living room to watch TV with Cole. Cole and the pichu trio made room for Nicky and Sarah, so that they could both sit on the couch.

"Thank you Cole." Nicky said to him.

"Your welcome Nicky, you made it in just in time. A documentary is just about to play." Cole said in reply to him.

"What is it about Cole?" He asked.

"It is about the science of cloning." He said in reply to him.

"That sounds cool." He said in reply as the science documentary began.
